Featured Project

Mountain Roots Chef

Mountain Roots Chef was a custom-built website project for a private chef and baker in Western North Carolina. The project focused on creating a warm, approachable digital presence while improving usability across desktop and mobile.

Client Mountain Roots Chef
Project Type Website design and front-end build
Tools HTML, CSS, GitHub Pages
Focus Responsive design, content clarity, booking flow

Project Goal

The goal was to give the business a clearer online presence that could communicate services, showcase food photography, and help potential clients understand how to book a private chef experience.

My Contribution

I organized the site structure, wrote and refined page content, implemented the front-end pages, and created layouts that work across screen sizes. I focused on clear navigation, readable sections, visual storytelling, and practical paths to contact or booking.

Impact & Metrics

  • Lighthouse Scores: Achieved a 100/100 on Accessibility and Performance audits, ensuring the site is lightning-fast and usable by assistive technologies.
  • The "Zero to One" Metric: Took the client from zero digital visibility to establishing a fully functional digital footprint where their services are now easily bookable online.
  • Problem/Solution Focus: Reduced cognitive load by restructuring chaotic service text into 3 easily scannable, high-contrast sections for a seamless user experience.

What This Demonstrates

This project shows my ability to combine accessibility, systems thinking, and visual design in a real client project. It also reflects my personal brand because the final site is structured to reduce confusion and make the business feel more trustworthy and easier to understand.

What Guides the Work

  • Accessible layouts and readable content
  • Clear navigation and predictable structure
  • Flexible systems that can grow over time
  • Design choices that reduce cognitive load

Current Direction

I am continuing to build my portfolio through user experience design coursework, Ommani Collective client work, and real-world projects that combine accessibility, systems thinking, and thoughtful digital design.
